Finance Executive – Legal Entity Control

Summary:

This role will work alongside a team of skilled finance professionals and will be a key part of the Group’s Finance Team with specific responsibilities focusing on the Group’s Legal Entity Control (LEC) and Regulatory Reporting obligations

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and review of AFSL, APRA, ABS, Political and other regulatory reporting requirements of the Group
  • Assist in supporting the year end and half year ASX financial reporting and audit processes including responding to audit queries, preparing audit deliverables and financial statement note preparation
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and semi-annual financial statement notes and disclosures
  • Preparation of Group intangible asset reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation and financial statement notes as well as preparation of accounting papers and internal models for audit testing requirements.
  • Monthly journal preparation and posting for Group equity balances including foreign currency translation, investment in subs, intercompany and elimination entries.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation for Group equity in accordance with Group policies
  • Assist in the review of monthly Group statutory profit and loss and balance sheet commentary for internal reporting
  • Management of Group restricted accounts processes
  • Assist with the coordination of the Group’s Areas of Judgement process
  • Assist with the coordination of the Group’s internal management representation letter sign-off process
  • Oversight, control and set up of finance system master data including new reporting entities in the Group’s General Ledger system
  • Legal entity control responsibilities for the Group’s charitable foundation including journal preparation, cash reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of legal entity balances, completion of financial statements, management of audit process and management of charitable donation payments
  • Assist with the oversight of the Group’s subsidiary legal entity control responsibilities to ensure accuracy and completeness of legal entity balances, including subsidiary audits, subsidiary financial statements and dividend processes
  • Partnering with the business and corporate teams to drive operational efficiency initiatives and finance system enhancements
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date finance processes and procedures documentation
  • Contribute to overall Group financial control and management reporting processes, deliverables and responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Financial control, legal entity control and regulatory reporting experience
  • IFRS technical knowledge
  • Experience supporting an Australian Financial Services business or a listed company environment with specific focus on Asset Management, Lending and Corporate Advisory and Equities businesses
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations General Ledger system
  • CA or CPA qualified (3+ years post qualified)
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires you to balance multiple competing demands
